Haydon was the CMAR for this 80,000 SF community recreation and aquatics facility which includes a three-court gymnasium, climbing wall, elevated indoor jogging track, fitness and weight room, fit zone, two racquetball courts, game room, indoor playground, child watch area, administration and support space, and an indoor aquatics facility with an eight-lane by 25-meter lap pool with bulkhead, 25-yard by 25-meter lap pool, leisure pool, and multi-purpose classrooms that also function as party rooms.
An additional component of this project was the conversion of the existing community aquatics center into an indoor turf soccer field.
The building’s architecture is inspired by the city’s geography and history with unique features such as a dark slate exterior with veins resembling the Black Canyon, and decorative trestle bridge walkway suspended over the lobby front desk.
