Haydon Scores Hat Trick in Parks & Recreation Outstanding Facilities

August 14, 2014. Haydon Building Corp’s most recently completed park and recreation projects swept the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association (APRA) Outstanding Facility Awards, receiving the award in each of the three population categories.

The 2014 Outstanding Facility awards were presented at the APRA’s 64th Annual Conference Award Banquet held at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort. Projects receiving the award include the Morenci Community Center for populations under 25,000; Copper Sky Recreation Complex (Regional Park completed by Haydon) for populations between 25,000 – 100,000; and Pioneer Community Park for populations over 100,000.

Projects winning the Outstanding Facility awards were judged on: 1. The impact the facility has on the overall leisure opportunities of a service area, 2. Its ability to work from a functional as well as an aesthetic standpoint, 3. Innovative features, energy conservation, and environmental sensitivity, and 4. Unique methods of financing the project.

This is the first time that the same firm built all three projects receiving the Outstanding Facility Awards.
