Belden Warehouse Conversion

This 130-acre site contained over 1,000,000 SF of existing manufacturing and warehouse space (formerly the Belden Cable Plant). Haydon served as the CMAR for this project.

The main cable manufacturing building (900,000 SF) was converted to high bay storage, office and retail space, and light manufacturing. Haydon installed a new fire sprinkler system, a new main electrical distribution system, new water mains, and new HVAC systems for the entire building as well as the multiple tenants housed within the building. As part of the conversion 4 loading docks were added with room for over 50 trucks. Many of the smaller out building were demolished and over 215,000 SF of existing mezzanine was removed to make room for additional storage. In addition to replacing all of the existing site utilities, the storm drainage system was brought up to current code by adding a new storm sewer system with above-grade and below-grade retention systems and drywells. The perimeter of the site was landscaped and new site fencing and block walls were installed. Four new drive approaches were added and parking for over 500 cars was included within the Department of Economic Services TI.
